Blizzard officially announced Blizzcon 2008 today. The dates are October 11 and 12. The place is Anaheim, California. The entrance fee? One hundred smackeroos.

The 2007 Blizzcon was rife with info about the upcoming Wrath of the Lich King expansion for World of Warcraft. Will we see more of the same in 2008? An in-depth look at the newest ruined troll city that has a bunch of corrupted animal spirits running around, perhaps? Starcraft II hands-on? Maybe even a new game announcement? We’ll find out in five months.

Of course, for World of Warcraft players, the big question is what kind of in-game swag Blizzard will be distributing to attendees. Previous loot was a baby murloc and a murloc suit. If eBay is any indication, those $100 tickets just might pay for themselves.
