Yeah, I don’t know quite what to make of this either. But let’s begin at the beginning.

You may have seen celebrities participating in the “Stand Up To Cancer” ad campaign recently. While I think we can all fully support research and development in the cancer area, I find the theme of the ads a little insulting. They’re always like “IT’S TIME TO STAND UP TO CANCER ALREADY. COME ON GUYS. LET’S DO IT.” As if we’ve been completely ignoring cancer for the past thirty years.

In any case, Stand Up to Cancer is holding an auction on – where else? – eBay, and the winner of that auction will be entitled to a SPIDER-MAN 4 VIP EXPERIENCE!

Wow, how long has it been since a month started on a Monday? (Don’t look that up, I don’t really want to know.) This upcoming week has some cool stuff on T.V., so here’s a few of the highlights:

On Monday, tune to Lifetime (I know, I know!) at 9:00 PM EST for The Matador. So Lions Gate and Twisted have finally put out a poster for Saw V that approaches scary.  It was a bad sign when the poster promoting the corresponding blood drive was scarier than the poster for the movie itself, but it seems like they’re at least trying to get their act together ahead of the release, but is it a case of too little, too late?

Fall may be a traditionally pre-holiday slump for video game releases, but there’s still plenty of good stuff on the near horizon. Here’s what’s coming out.

Spore is coming out September 7, and is already available for pre-loading on the online store. Another EA title, Mercenaries 2, lands today and is already on store shelves.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky was supposed to come out on the fifth, but is currently being recalled. Apparently all of the boxes accidently went out without CD keys. So, will the digital copy on Steam be pushed back as well? I guess we’ll see.
