There was not much that separated the AFC North champs, the Pittsburgh Steelers, and runner-up, Cleveland Browns, in the 2007 season.
Except for a tie-breaker, that is.
This year the two clubs have extremely tough schedules and are not likely to win 10 games each like last season.
Both teams quarterbacks had phenomenal seasons in 2007, but I’m expecting the Browns’ Derek Anderson to improve, and the Steelers’ Ben Roethlisberger to bounce.
Anderson is entering his third year in the league and did not play much in his rookie season.
Roethlisberger will be entering his fifth year in the league and has never played as well as he did last year.
The Cincinnati Bengals have way too many injuries to even be considered a contender in this division.
The Baltimore Ravens won this division in 2006 and came back with a disappointing 5-11 last place finish in 2007. In 2008, they are likely to continue to fall further down the ladder.
Projected AFC North standings:
Cleveland Browns 9-7
Pittsburgh Steelers 8-8
Cincinnati Bengals 5-11
Baltimore Ravens 3-13
