TMZ has “reported” that Britney Spears doesn’t like her dad managing her affairs. This is almost as surprising as the fact that TMZ has, once again, posted a story without any reference to a source or where they heard it. Not that I doubt it – this is one of those things you can pretty much say without anyone questioning it.

We’re told Britney has been fighting with her dad quite often and one of the sore subjects is the dreaded Adnan. Britney wants to see him, but Jamie absolutely refuses. She is still in touch with her douchy ex, but they haven’t spent time together — even though Brit has been asking to see Adnan for months.

She’s also been complaining that daddy won’t let her go out, especially when she wants to go clubbing at night. Britney also doesn’t understand why Jamie won’t let her take the kids out during the day.

Yep, that sounds like Britney.

She’s also said to be “acting like a fifteen-year-old,” and not very “contrite” about the actions that landed her in this mess in the first place. That also sounds like Britney. People who engage in reckless behavior without any thought for the consequences aren’t likely to have the necessary insight to understand why someone else is suddenly in charge of them.

While I’ve no doubt that the codependent relationship between Britney and her father is unhealthy, in relative terms, it’s the best thing she’s got going. It is to the rest of Britney’s relationships what methadone is to heroin.

Of course this is all baseless speculation, as far as I can tell. Maybe Britney and her dad get along just great, and go on father-daughter picnics and play chess together. (Why is chess the quintessential father/daughter game? My dad always wanted to play chess with me, and I know he wasn’t the only one. What’s up with that?) But judging by her past behavior, I’m guessing that TMZ is right. Not that astounding of a prediction. Britney’s irresponsible. World keeps on spinnin’.
