The thin veneer of friendship that covered the interactions between Dexter and Miguel is now completely worn away. It’s kind of sad that Dexter has lost another friend, but Dexter gaining an enemy can’t be anything but exciting. As Dex himself says, “my search for connection always ends in blood.”
With the relationship between Miguel and Sil becoming ever more strained, Rita wants to know why Dexter won’t accept Miguel’s lavish gift – full catering for their wedding from an expensive restaurant. Dex explains that Miguel is “not who I thought he was,” which leads Rita to conclude that Miguel is, in fact, cheating on his wife. At an emotional dress fitting, Rita finds herself no longer able to conceal this information from Sil.
When Sil goes to confront her husband and finds him at LaGuerta’s house, all her suspicions are confirmed and she tells him to get out of her life. Miguel blames Dex for this interference, though he refuses to take credit – he screws with Miguel in even more subtle ways. Like finding the wedding ring Miguel stole off of Ellen Wolf’s finger after he killed her.
Using the ring and the shirt covered in “Freebo’s” blood as leverage, Dex tries to convince Miguel to leave him and his fiancĂ©e alone. Though Miguel tells him that he will fight back in ways Dex can’t even imagine, Dexter walks away coolly from the encounter. Until The Skinner nabs him and throws him into the trunk of his car.
And BANG, our plotlines collide.
Meanwhile, in Plot B, Deb and Anton are having some trouble. Though she was initially grateful to find him alive, she finds that they can’t really have a life together – not without her sacrificing her chance at a detective’s badge, anyway. And in Plot C, Masuka is trying to plan a bachelor party that will be appropriate for someone like Dexter. That means no hookers!
With only two episodes left in the season, there are only two things I know for sure: Dexter will somehow outwit, outlast, and/or outplay the Skinner. And something very bad will happen to Miguel.
