Lindsey Lohan – A Horror Movie In Her Own Right

Lindsey Lohan–Destroying Horror Movies Since 2007!Watching your video store shelves lately may have revealed a new and altogether shocking development in the form of a movie called I Know Who Killed Me. This by itself wouldn’t mean a whole lot until you look past the title to the credits. And the box art. And then past the dry heaves you’re pretty much guaranteed when you realize that this is, in fact, Lindsey Lohan’s first horror flick. Though I do admit her earlier work was also plenty scary but for totally different reasons.

Stop Crying Already…It Just Demeans Us All.

There is something interesting about this, aside from the sheer soul-crushing misery of Lindsey Lohan in a horror movie. It did horribly at the box office. And while most of us are actually kinda happy about this – hard to be dissatisfied when justice is so clearly served – the strange part is that an independent poll conducted by NBC revealed that, when asked, most people’s nominee for worst performance by an actress came from Miss Lohan and her performance in I Know Who Killed Me.

But almost nobody actually saw Miss Lohan’s performance in said waste of plastic.

So…What Does That Mean, Anyway?

There’s a lot of possibilities, here. One, no one takes horror movies very seriously anyway, so once one crops up as a possible selection on the list, people instinctively mark it for worst performance / acting / writing / directing / what have you. Two, there was an incredible statistical correlation between the handful of people who actually saw I Know Who Killed Me and the people responding to the poll.

Perhaps there’s a third – my personal favorite – possibility, a sort of “reverse halo effect” on Lindsey Lohan. People just hate this chick no matter what she’s in, and thus anything that comes in contact with her – boyfriends, movies, concerts, parties, court cases, tabloids, rehab programs – is just seen as unutterably cheesy.
