In a drama that has several nifty twists, it’s been reported that Mary-Kate Olsen refuses to say anything at all to prosecutors regarding Heath Ledger’s fatal drug overdose unless she receives “immunity” from prosecutors. Meanwhile, Mary-Kate’s lawyers are in a feeding frenzy all their own, insisting she knows ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about Ledger’s fatal overdose and is cooperating completely with investigators even though she, once again, knows ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about this case.
Methinks the lady doth protest too much. And that’s a little bit of Shakespeare to fire up your afternoon or whenever it is you’re reading this. But it’s also relevant in the sense that, not one day after reports surface claiming she’ll only talk upon receiving “immunity”–which I’m given to understand is something of a minimal requirement for ANYONE willing to turn State’s Evidence, but I’m no lawyer–her lawyers immediately pounce on the reports claiming them wrong beyond all belief and common sense.
So what’s the deal here? Does she know more than she’s letting on? Or is she as ignorant as we’ve all figured her to be since her debut on Full House proving once again that that small-screen abortion masquerading as television destroys both minds and careers?
Don’t believe me? Two words: Jodie. Sweetin.
Represent.
All tomfoolery aside, this is a tragic loss and not the time to be worried about careers and whatnot. If she knows anything at all, I hope she’s being as cooperative as her lawyers assert she’s being and that all these other reports are in fact a pile of bullhonkery. But if the converse is true, then she needs to give up whatever information she’s got without waiting for a deal.
As always, in tribute to Ledger, there’s Dark Knight trivia waiting on Kwanzoo.
