Sometimes strange things happen. Sometimes, things work together in a coincidence of events that is beyond the human ability to understand. And when those things happen, the day on which they happen takes on a special sort of significance.

December 31, 2008 will be one of those days.

If you happen to be a fan of horror films, then December 31, 2008 is going to be a day to save on your calendar. No, not for your standard New Year’s Eve debauch, but because there’s going to be four—count ‘em, FOUR—horror movies released theatrically on that day.

Now, naturally, by the time we actually get to anticipating the ball drop, we may not have four movies waiting on us any more. But as it stands right now, there’s a full slate of four and I’m all sorts of happy—with The Tribe, The Poughkeepsie Tapes, A Tale of Two Sisters and Trailer Park of Terror all slated that day, it’s gonna be an epic night.
