Now, you might wonder, with an opening like that, what could I possibly be building up into? Okay, this one’ll kill you. Remember when I was screaming about Bruce Campbell’s wreck of a career and how desperately he and Sam Raimi both need to get back in and do Evil Dead 4?
My feet are suddenly chilly–I guess Hell has finally frozen over. But there’s something crucial to remember here in all this–this has happened before. Evil Dead series fans have been going back and forth and round-de-round about the concept of Evil Dead 4 since about twenty minutes after Army of Darkness got released. And as sure as the sun rising tomorrow, there’s no doubt at all that we’ve been burned before.
But after the Bruce Campbell interview that said there was some likelihood of Evil Dead 4, and now Sam and Ted Raimi both working on the script, it just might–MIGHT!–be a matter of time before we’re watching Ashley Chainsawhands chop his way through deadites on the big screen once again. Even if it goes straight to video it’ll still be worth it to finally have Evil Dead 4 in our hands.
And not a moment too soon for anybody!
