Rock Band News! Or At Least It Would Be….

Now you can rock out like Axl. Or Slash, maybe. Or whoever they got to replace Slash, I don’t really keep track….Hot fresh off the ether news, o my readership–if you’re into Rock Band even vaguely, then this is news you definitely want to hear. Harmonix has recently announced that the April 8th downloadable content for Rock Band will be Guns ‘N’ Roses’ new album Chinese Democracy.

The whole thing.

Nope…sorry. You, sadly, have just been taken in by part of the, apparently, newest trend in news reporting–lying like no tomorrow on April first and not bothering to mention it until after the fact.

Some websites apparently think it’s a great idea to put up “news” that’s actually complete crockery in the spirit of April Fools’ Day. Not a bad idea, I’d say–at least, if they’d actually mention somewhere that this is in fact an April Fool’s stunt. Some places like X-Play, for example, ran a fake news ticker during the whole show, but deliberately misspelled all the companies’ names so there would be absolutely no confusion.

Maybe that’s a little much, but there really should be SOME kind of designation saying oh, by the way, this is NOT actual news you’re reading but a complete fiction that we made up for the special psuedo-holiday. I like the idea of fake news, but you do need to at least designate it fake, somehow.

So just in case you’re wondering, no, you will NOT be able to play an entire Guns ‘n’ Roses album on Rock Band. Kinda sad, sure, but hey! At least the news was funny.

Unless you like Guns ‘n’ Roses and Rock Band at the same time, then it’s just depressing.
