You know, I generally approve of Samuel L. Jackson. He’s a solid actor who’s done a lot of good work, and by all reports, he’s not one of those celebrity assholes you’re so constantly hearing about.  At least, he’s not in any reports I’VE heard.

I even enjoy referring to him as Sam Jack, mostly because I find it oddly appropriate.  But when I heard about his strange celebrity crush...well…I confess to some bafflement.

Seems Sam Jack–Mace Windu of Star Wars fame et al–has got a thing for, of all people, Helen Mirren, prim English actress and star of the major-league Oscar-calibre The Queen.

Samuel L. Jackson has confessed to a secret crush – he’s in love with prim British actress Helen Mirren.

The Pulp Fiction star admits he lusts after the 63-year-old actress, who famously played Queen Elizabeth II in the 2006 movie The Queen.

And he is so obsessed with her passionate love scenes in 1989′s The Cook, The Thief, His Wife + Her Lover, he watches them every few months.

Jackson says, “I’ll watch anything with Helen Mirren in it. Especially when she was young. I mean, come on! I love Helen. I watch The Cook, The Thief, His Wife + Her Lover at least four times a year.”

Freaky stuff there, Sam Jack.  But maybe you can get something going there.  Ever thought about trying to get a role alongside her?  I bet the two of you could really tear it up.  You could do the Snakes on the Plane sequel together!  That would actually be kinda awesome.

But that’s all right, Sam Jack–I hope you manage to get a little off-screen time with her too.  Nothing sucks quite like a crush unrequited, and you may not be too into her when you get to know her.
