As the owner of an online store for software products, you’ve got a lot of things to keep track of. Increasing traffic to your site, engaging those users, converting users into loyal repeat visitors and – most importantly – converting casual browsers into buying customers – all vital pieces of the e-commerce puzzle. If only there were one small, useful tool that could accomplish all of these things! Well, allow me to present this most elegant solution:
Aside from being pretty, these little widgets are exactly what your website is missing. They can be written on any topic under the sun, and once the quiz is over, users can be directed to any link you choose.
No one can resist a quiz. It’s the kind of challenge that draws people in and keeps them hooked. The popularity of our “scored” and “personality” style quizzes can’t be overstated – but how can they help you accomplish all these goals? Let me explain. Our widgets…
Increase traffic because they can be embedded on any site, anywhere. Lead the user to the quiz results back to your site and you can bring in new customers from all over the web. Rather than paying for boring, easily-ignored display advertisements, you can offer fun, engaging quizzes that send people right to you.
Drive user engagement because they’re fun! It’s easy to ignore long checklists of specifications or
marketing messages about your business, but a quiz that invites users to examine their needs and then suggests the perfect solution? That’s engaging.
Convert browsers into buyers because, rather than being presented with a baffling array of options, potential customers are given crisp and clear recommendations based on their exact needs. Even the least technically-inclined will feel comfortable making a purchase, because they know they’re getting exactly what they need.
Of course, the same theory could work for not just one, but an array of products that you offer. The Kwanzoo team is always hard at work creating new quizzes on different topics, and we can make a custom quiz just for your business. Just get in touch with us and explain what you’re hoping to accomplish.
Or, if you prefer the DIY route, it’s easy to make your own quiz. Our self-service quiz creation utility is simple and effective. Let’s walk through the process, using our “How Safe Is Your Computer?” quiz as an example.
First, we determined some important traits of computer security software. Some of them offer virus and spyware protection, while others offer backup utilities. Lastly, some help your computer function more efficiently. In order to effectively point someone towards the product that would be best for them, we’d need to determine their specific needs. So we drew up three pairs of opposing traits:
Secure vs. Unsecured
Backed-Up vs. Loss-Prone
Efficient vs. Inefficient
- which could describe the state of a user’s computer. Then we drew up all the possible combinations of these traits, coming up with snappy names that summarize each user:
The Tech Master
(Secure Backed-Up Efficient)
The Careful Techie
(Secure Backed-Up Inefficient)
The Smooth Operator
(Secure Loss-Prone Efficient)
The Night Watchman
(Secure Loss-Prone Inefficient)
The Carefree Techie
(Unsecured Backed-Up Efficient)
The Data Guru
(Unsecured Backed-Up Inefficient)
The Lucky One
(Unsecured Loss-Prone Efficient)
The Casual User
(Unsecured Loss-Prone Inefficient)
To make an accurate quiz, you really only need two trait pairs (making for a total of four personality types). However, we’ve found that 3-4 trait pairs are about right for most topics. Theoretically, you could have more than four – but that would make for a very long quiz! We recommend 3 to 5 questions to narrow down a user into one of two traits in a pair (such as Efficient versus Inefficient)
The hard work of quizmaking is already done. Now, you just need to come up with the questions that will determine the user’s needs. For our quiz, we wrote five questions for each of the three trait pairs, each with four answer choices where the answers tell us if the user is more like one trait or the other.
Now all you need is a special account with Kwanzoo, easily obtained by contacting us and explaining your needs. Then, using our easy quiz-creation utility, input all of your quiz data into our site. You can now create a customizable widget to use on your own site, or for serving up over an ad network. (All of your quiz data will stay private to your account, and won’t be seen by anyone until you choose to embed the widget elsewhere.)
That’s all it takes to develop a unique, innovative way of marketing your products, or bringing in users to your site.
But what if you don’t have any products of your own to sell? If you get your money from directing users over to other sites as an affiliate marketer, Kwanzoo can help with that too. Personality quizzes don’t have to be about products, they can be about any topic you like – witness our “What’s Your Shopping Style” widget.
And our widgets come in the standard IAB ad unit size of 300×250, so you can embed the quiz as an interactive ad on a variety of different ad networks, such as the Google Content Network (GCN).
Kwanzoo quiz widgets are much more effective than standard display advertising, which is so easily ignored. It’s just common sense, but the numbers support it: our clickthrough rates (CTRs) are up to ten times higher than regular display ad CTRs.
If any of this interests you, don’t hesitate to get in touch with us. We can’t wait to help you make your website even more awesome.
