The Son of Kwanzoo Blog Carnival

Good morning, everyone. Welcome to the second biweekly Kwanzoo blog carnival, where we collect the best posts on movies, television, video games and celebrities. (At least, we collect the best ones that people submit to us.)

Great submissions this time around, but these are the ones that made the cut:

SomeAudioGuy returns this week to write about the one, the only, the unmistakable, the Wilhelm Scream. (You can also see a list of video games where the scream appears here, as well as a clip of its first ever appearance.)

Conan Stevens writes about the progress of his low-budget action movie, Bangkok Adrenaline. He is huge. ‘Nuff said.

Nui Loa has a list of the 17 greatest cover songs of all time (and the three worst). Personally I’d swap something out to include Aretha Franklin’s cover of Respect, but a solid list overall. (Yep, it’s a cover.)

Shaula Evans is collecting a list of the best road movies. “Bonus points for obscure, foreign, and non-English films!” she says. Definitely The Muppet Movie. Not obscure enough?

Ralph Jean-Paul has a list of the eight most confident men in films, and what you can learn from them. I can save you some time, though. The only movie you need to watch is The Tao of Steve.

Toni notes that the the trailer for the latest in a long line of expansion packs for The Sims 2, Apartment Life, has an official trailer up. She adds: “While I was typing out why I was looking forward to this EP so much, I realized I was pretty much typing out what I did in everyday life (save for the witch part). The Sims have consumed my life. Tsk.” Recursive entertainment, folks.

Nahiyan Malik writes in with a comparison of console exclusive video games for the Xbox 360 and the PS3.(The inclusion of Final Fantasy XIII is out of place post-E3, but you could reasonably swap it out for MAG.)

Lastly, another library-oriented list from the The Online Education Database on bringing games and gaming into the library. (Rock Band: probably unacceptable.)

And that’s it for this week. Keep those submissions coming.
