Okay, so we’re not holding out a lot of hope for Boogeyman 2 to be anything approaching good. It’s a direct to video sequel of a movie that didn’t do all that hot to begin with, and that doesn’t exactly spell “huge success”. Huge is in there, but it’s more likely to be followed by “flop”, “disaster”, or even “embarrassing failure”. But there is an upside to this that you may not be familiar with.

That’s right – none other than Tobin Bell, Jigsaw of the first four Saw titles, is starring. I don’t know what exactly he’s doing there; given how the first four Saw titles did at the box office and then on video he should be richer than Croesus or Jesus depending on who you ask, but I’m not complaining. No matter what you thought of the Saw franchise – the word “exploitation” comes to mind and I’m thinking in terms of the audience – but you really have to admit that Bell did a great job in them.

Thusly, Boogeyman 2 may not be that great, but there should be at least a silver lining to this dark cloud. And that’s a lot better than you think.
