Well, forget it, folks…the word that Lindsay Lohan and DJ Samantha Ronson are getting hitched is an absolute crockery as of right now.  Or at least they might be–apparently La Lohan and her camp can’t quite get their stories straight.  Here’s the word from WENN:

Latest Lindsay Lohan has denied reports she is set to wed her rumoured girlfriend Samantha Ronson

The Mean Girls star was allegedly planning to walk down the aisle with the Los Angeles DJ, after Ronson reportedly told party-goers at a recent gig: “By the end of the year, my love will be Mrs Ronson.”

The actress was also seen sporting a diamond on her left ring finger, fuelling speculation about impending nuptials.

But a representative for the star tells Access Hollywood, “They (reporters) lie. She bought it (the ring) herself. It’s an antique ring that she found at an antiques store in NYC.”

So…wait.  Lindsay Lohan bought herself a diamond ring.  Because she liked it.  Um…I may not be up on jewelry fashion trends but don’t most women generally NOT wear diamond rings because people believe they’re engaged?  I could easily be wrong here–ladies, correct me here if I’m off–but diamond rings are a definite misleader.

So did La Lohan tell people she’s getting hitched, or did she just find herself attracted to a shiny thing in an antique shop?  We really won’t know for some while, but know I’ll be keeping tabs!
