Are you…PURE?
If you find yourself carefully monitoring the movies you plan to watch, then you might be Pure. You’re not a big fan of gratuitous violence or nudity, although you might let your standards slide for movies that use adult themes to make an important point. Generally speaking, though, you are very careful when it comes to what you consume. Whether you have strong religious convictions or are just a cautious parent, you pay close attention to the MPAA.

Are you…EDGY?
Then again, maybe you’re the type who really enjoys an R rating. This doesn’t necessarily mean that you’re a gore hound, or even particularly obsessed with sex and violence. It just means that you grew out of most G and PG-rated fare a long time ago, and you probably see movies that contain adult content as more realistic. You get distracted by teenagers who inexplicably abstain or mafioso who don’t curse up a storm. All in all, you’ve got grown-up tastes, and your choice in movies reflects that.

Are you…LIGHTWEIGHT?
Do you gravitate more towards comedies than dramas, thrillers, and other heavy fare? If so, you might be a lightweight. But there’s no shame in that! Everybody enjoys a good laugh, and you enjoy it even more than most. You might find it hard to focus on movies that demand a lot from the viewer, or maybe you find yourself too affected by them afterwards. Are you…INTENSE?
If your idea of entertainment is a heart-pounding horror film or a thought-provoking documentary, then you’re probably one of those intense types. You have an appreciation for things that stimulate your mind and senses, and a movie that doesn’t is likely to bore you. That doesn’t mean you can’t just sit back and enjoy a comedy, but your favorite films are probably more Boogie Nights than 40 Days and 40 Nights.

Maybe you’re too busy to sit down and watch a movie that you’re not very interested in, or maybe you’re just not interested in wasting the time. Either way, you’re the type of person who doesn’t get around to seeing a movie until all your friends have recommended it to you at least once. When planning an outing to the theater, you spend a few minutes reading reviews to make sure that you spend your money on something you’re really interested in.

Are you…a JUNKIE?
You eat, breathe, and dream movies. You always find the time to check out the latest movies, and you spend a lot of time reading reviews, blogs, and the latest news. Maybe you even keep one of those journals where you plan out all the movies you tend to catch as soon as they hit theaters. You spend a good portion of your disposable income on DVDs, and you don’t regret it – not even for a minute.

Are you…a SPECTATOR?

When people start talking about framing and cinematography and special effects, do your eyes spin? If so, you might be a Spectator. While you appreciate that there’s a bunch of people out there who take the study of film very seriously, that’s just not you. You prefer to just sit back and enjoy the ride. Watching too many behind-the-scenes specials probably ruins the magic for you. Movies are entertainment, not education.

Are you…an AFICIONADO?
If you’re the kind of person who gets distracted by shoddy editing or bad CGI, then most likely you are an Aficionado of film. And you tend to call it “film,” not “movies.” You might have taken a film making class or two, and you have an understanding of what makes classic films classic. You appreciate movies as an art form, not just something to enjoy with a tub of popcorn.
