After Thanksgiving NCAA football polls
AP
No. 1- Alabama finished the season as the No. 1 seed in the polls, however, in my mind, it still has a lot to prove. First it must beat Florida, then it must beat Oklahoma (my prediction) in the BCS title game should Alabama wish to remain No. 1.
No. 2- Florida in my opinion should be No. 1, but since it lost to Mississippi (the blocked extra point), everyone else gives Alabama the edge. I know I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again (and again), the Gators are going to roll over the Tide in the SEC title game (look for more on this in another post).
No. 3 - Texas got screwed in the Big 12 tiebreakers, which came down to a three-way tie between it, Oklahoma and Texas Tech, all 11-1, and was determined by the fifth tiebreaker (highest BSC ranking). I’m sure this is going to piss some people off and further push the notion that a playoff system should be instated in college football.
No. 4- Oklahoma looked awfully good beating intrastate rival Oklahoma State. Oklahoma should be headed to the BCS title game should it beat Missouri in the Big 12 title game.
No. 5- USC (pretty much) won the Pac-10 with Oregon State’s loss in the Civil War. It would be a major shocker should if UCLA were to beat USC. The Bruin’s are going to be HUGE underdogs to the Trojans, and I don’t even think Bruin fans will predict their team to win this one. Look for the Trojans to destroy the Nittany Lions in the Rose Bowl, but I’ll talk about that another time.
