Blizzcon 2008

BlizzconSo, you didn’t get tickets to Blizzcon this year? Don’t feel bad, not many people actually did. The ticket sales can only be described as utter chaos as every time the ticket sales were declared open the site crashed from sheer number of users. For those that missed out on tickets there was always the pay-per-view event, but it’s not the same as being there in person.

One of the most impressive features of this year’s Blizzcon was the merchandise. The convention featured everything from purchasable figurines to a scale replica Arthas helms. This year’s big exclusive in the goodie bag was the in-game polar bear mount. There are the people that only wanted to go for the goodie bag, but then there are the ones that are now selling off their full goodie bag on ebay for a good chunk of change. The price WoW fans will pay for these bags of swag are staggering.

We can only hope that next year the ticket process will go smoother and that some of us Starcraft fanatics will get our chance to go to Blizzcon right before the release of Starcraft II. One can only hope that there will be a Starcraft focused Blizzcon next year.
