Bruce Campbell Comes Back To Movies With The Horribleness
Okay…brace yourselves, kids…Bruce Campbell’s actually doing a movie for a change! Yeah, no voiceovers, no cartoons, no video games—he’s actually taking the advice the good folks at Film Threat threw his way in this year’s Frigid Fifty and doing a movie!
Oh, sure, it’s not Evil Dead Four, which is what a lot of fans were waiting for—it’s called The Horribleness. Featuring not only a cast list that is just downright amazing—not only is Bruce Campbell in it, but so is Ellen Sandweiss, Ted Raimi, and Sam Raimi himself—but a plot that must be seen to be believed, The Horribleness looks like it’s going to be the movie to beat for quite some time.
There will be all manner of satire going on around here, besides. The sheriff and his deputy in the town of Bad Ax where this all takes place are named Andy and Barney, respectively. One character is an aging vampire upset about not being able to get lead film roles any more. We’ll even get a nice Salem’s Lot parody in the form of—get this!—Father Paddy O’Furniture, who is currently battling addictions to the following: tobacco, alcohol, marijuana and cocaine.
Is it just me or is that even funnier than Father “I Kick Arse For the LORD!” McGruder from “Dead Alive”?
As to the when—as in, when are we gonna get to see this little wonder?—it’s not quite sure yet. It’s being worked on, you see, but rumor has it it’s slated for 2009.
And until then, lots of horror movie trivia awaits in the meantime on Kwanzoo.
