From the cult musical Newsies to Batman Begins, Christian Bale has been one of Hollywood’s favorite eye candies. But he is so much more than that - this veteran of movies like American Psycho and I’m Not There is an incredibly talented actor to boot.

Prior to accepting the role of Bob Dylan in I’m Not There, Bale declined to read the script.

Before he appeared in The Prestige, he was trained by magician Ricky Jay in sleight of hand.

Bale’s height is 6′2″, which exactly matches that of Bruce Wayne in the Batman comics.

He is currently in negotiations to play John Connor in Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins.

For his role in The Machinist, Bale lost about 65 pounds by eating nothing but salads and apples, chewing gum, smoking cigarettes, and drinking nonfat lattes.

Since reading Charlotte’s Web, he refuses to eat red meat. He is an animal lover who owns several cats and dogs.

Though he was raised in England, Bale was born in Wales.

He auditioned for the role of Jack Dawson in Titanic, but lost to Leonardo DiCapro. A few years later, he took the role of Patrick Bateman in American Psycho from DiCaprio.
