Grand Theft Auto Zombie! Man, who would’ve thought you could see those words ever put together in one exciting bundle of glee? Well, there they are, for better or for worse.

I found out about Vice City: Long Night whilst perusing some game reviews and discovered that, indeed, someone had managed to modify Grand Theft Auto: Vice City into a game featuring zombies.

The game has its ups and downs–apparently no one changed the voice modulation to include watery groans and cries of “Braaaaains!”, so what you have is a rather surrealistic situation in which the bodies of the dead have come to life, are attacking the living, and are talking about their shopping. Sort of like “Dawn of the Dead” times a billion, I guess. But anyway. Gameplay is also said to be extremely difficult, with lots and lots of zombies everywhere you go, respawning constantly, so that none of the techniques in Max Brooks’ survival guide (shaky as they may be to begin with) will be of any use to you here.

But still! For sheer dedication to the concept of zombie apocalypse, this one at least merits a look. And if you’d rather stick to the original, try some Grand Theft Auto trivia courtesy of Kwanzoo.
