Heidi Montag is Totally Pure
It’s strange how, in the entertainment industry, virginity can be such a hot commodity.
Remember when Britney Spears claimed to be a virgin? And Jessica Simpson? Despite their highly sexualized images, they still felt that it was Very Important to be Good Role Models for Little Girls. And that meant staying pure before marriage, even while wearing Daisy Dukes and singing “hit me baby one more time.”
Of course, if you actually believe that they were virgins on their wedding days, then you, no offense, are extremely gullible. I guess you could make the case that it doesn’t matter, as long as they’re talking the talk. But it loses some impact when “virginity” becomes separated from “chastity,” which is, really, the entire point.
Recently, star of Laguna Beach “reality” T.V. spinoff The Hills, Heidi Montag, has fallen under scrutiny. Seems her boyfriend, Spencer Pratt, claims that she is a virgin. Even though they live together, Pratt insists “we don’t sin over here.” And that they put “pillows in the bed between them” at night.
For those who don’t understand the concept of shows like Laguna Beach and The Hills, let me explain. They are billed as reality programming, filmed like reality programming, yet many suspect that most aspects of the show are, at least, rigged.
Audrina Partridge has added fuel to the fire by stating that she was “chosen” to be one of Lauren and Heidi’s friends by the producers of The Hills. Though she insists the show is not scripted, she’s already spilled the beans: The Hills may be improvised, but it’s not “real life.”
Given this situation, it’s unclear how we should feel about the fact that Heidi Montag took a pregnancy test on the show.
Yes, she did. HollyScoop has the clip, and it really does make you wonder if Spencer Pratt thinks we know where babies come from. Why would he bother to make such an outrageously false claim? Unless, of course, she really is a virgin an was set up by the producers to pretend otherwise?
The double standard almost makes my head explode.
