Hey Baby, Wanna Kill All Humans?
Good news, everyone!
Isn’t it great to hear Professor Farnsworth say that once more? Futurama fans have been dancing in the streets since Fox announced that the show would return, in the form of four direct-to-DVD movies which will subsequently be broadcast on Comedy Central. It’s every fanboy’s dream.
The first, Bender’s Big Score, came out just in time for Christmas. It’s a rollicking good time with all the usual suspects, plus favorites like Seymour, Hedonismbot, Robot Santa, and Al Gore. While it may not reach the great heights of past episodes like The Sting or Jurassic Bark, it’s exactly what Futurama fans have been waiting for.
Now that we can all emerge from our basements, blinking, to scurry out and purchase this chunk of cinematic gold, I’d like to take a moment to talk about my Futurama favorites. Please do add your own; that’s exactly what comments are for.
Favorite Character
Bender is the clear shoe-in here. With his hedonistic lifestyle and devil-may-care attitude, he has a certain bad-boy charm that ensures his continued popularity. Plus, they named the movie after him.
Who do you like? Fry? Leela? Hedonismbot? Drop a line below and let us know.
Favorite Episode
While many cite the tear jerking Jurassic Bark or the season finale (The Devil’s Hands Are Idol Playthings), my vote goes to The Sting. It’s impossible to talk about this episode without giving away too much, but suffice it to say that it made me cry. I don’t cry. Well, apparently I do sometimes.
If your taste runs more to the comical, you might disagree - leave a comment with your favorite episode.

The irony is, they actually covered all those reasons to like Bender in “Bender Should Not Be Allowed On Television”, where he got that recurring role on “All My Circuits” being his standard badass self.
I’m definitely leaning toward “The Devil’s Hands are Idle Playthings” and “Hell Is Other Robots” for favorites because when these guys actually do a musical number, you KNOW it’s going to kick ass.
