I’m With Busey
After Gary Busey’s bizarre stunt at the Oscars, slightly more attention has been turned to the washed-up movie star. In the last decade or so, he’s made a kind of second career for himself out of acting like a complete weirdo. Some people seem shocked by his red carpet indiscretion, but they shouldn’t be - this kind of outburst has been brewing for a long time. Need proof? I present to you:
A BRIEF HISTORY OF GARY BUSEY’S INSANITY
December, 1988
Busey crashes his motorcycle and severely injures himself, not having bothered to wear a helmet. Doctors predict that a skull fracture may result in permanent brain damage. Shortly afterwards, Busey becomes a born-again Christian.
February, 1996
Busey appears in a film with Chris Farley and David Spade, Black Sheep.
June, 2003
Busey stars in the Comedy Central show I’m With Busey. In the semi-reality show, he attempts to teach young writer Adam de la Peña all about life. His tips include sayings like “tomorrow’s really yesterday” and “all men are failed women at birth.” He also reveals secret recipes for roadkill.
In view of all this, molesting Jennifer Garner doesn’t seem like such a big step. Hollywood might not have room for a truly nutty individual, but here’s hoping that Mr. Busey will be around to entertain us all for years to come.
