John Carpenter Sucks–L.A. Gothic to Include Vampires?
In a truly rare turn of events that already has me somewhat on the edge of my seat, it’s been rumored that the one and only John Carpenter will be making his way back to theaters. He’ll be bringing with him the movie L.A. Gothic, which is rumored to contain lots of vampires, nothing new for him.
All The Greats Coming Out of the Woodwork
Man, first it was new George Romero—and a new George Romero zombie flick at that!–only a matter of weeks away, and now a new Carpenter’s finding its way to the theatres? If this isn’t the Golden Age for horror buffs, then I don’t know what would be! But still, I’m plenty happy to see it, because it’s been a long time since Ghosts of Mars.
And Vampires? Well, At Least He’s Been There Before….
Long-time John Carpenter fans like myself may well remember John Carpenter’s Vampires, which was an adaptation of the entirely too much fun Allan Steakley novel Vampire$. Though by all reports, L.A. Gothic looks to be a whole lot heavier on the subtlety than Vampires ever dreamed of being. And that’s okay, I suppose—Carpenter’s done subtlety before (They Live, anyone?) and he can do it again.
But for now, we’ll have to content ourselves with the vast array of horror movie trivia currently compiled for our playing pleasure on Kwanzoo.
