People who hate prostitutes are counting down the days until Grand Theft Auto IV is released, the obese are waiting oh so patiently for Wii Fit and there’s probably some crazy guy who’s counting down the days until Wall-E hits consoles… instead of theaters. But me? I’ve just used my fingers and an old calender to count out the days until Haze comes out. Haze - the happy game of revenge where you get to kill the people who have enslaved you.

Haze seems like a pretty weird thing to be excited about, right? It’s just another shooting game with lots of blood and some strange serum you inject when things are getting a bit stale. What could possibly be special about this? The game itself may not sound too amazing, but the people behind the game are skilled craftsmen who made my high school years a happy-go-lucky killfest.

Since Rare is my favorite developer I pretty much have to love Free Radical as well. They are essentially an entire development team from within Rare - specifically, the First Person Shooter team. And though Timesplitters was little more than a PlayStation 2 Goldeneye clone and Second Sight is best forgotten, I still have hope that they can duplicate their jaw-dropping Nintendo 64 efforts. Hey, these guys practically invented console FPS, the least I can do is start a countdown clock for their next game, right?

The bad news is, Haze has already been thrust into a warzone. Because it is exclusively found on the PlayStation 3, the bitter souls who have yet to make the expensive plunge will be casting out disparaging, jealous words. Well I’m not going to let them get to me! Enjoy this Goldeneye trivia and imagine how great May will be.
