Making a liar out of Steve, posting GTA IV news
And the news is that Take-Two confirmed that the game made half a billion dollars its first week, beating Halo 3’s previous record of $300 million. Not bad! Even considering the game probably cost $100 million to make, making it the most expensive game in history, that’s a pretty good haul.
There’s speculation in the press about what this means for EA’s offer to buy Take-Two. At the moment, both sides are spinning it to their advantage, with Take-Two saying it justifies their refusal to sell and EA saying the expected profits were factored into the offer.
The other news is that Rockstar employees have fought their way through the piles of money to their workstations, issuing a multiplayer patch for the PS3, hopefully fixing the persistent lockups that were plaguing some players.
