Mercury Meltdown: Revolution Review
Mercury Meltdown: Revolution is a puzzle game for the Wii based on the original Archer Maclean’s Mercury for the PSP. The game is very unique as the player tilts the entire level to move the blob of mercury to the finish. The motion controls of the Wii-mote work beautifully with this game and are very intuitive.
The graphics of the game are bit lacking, but it is a puzzle game after all. The camera can make it incredible hard to see all the pieces of mercury at one time, and will frequently focus on the piece you don’t want it to.
The tutorial is very short, but it prepares the player for the rest of the game. The game mechanics are simple, but work incredible with the feel of the game. The game has a very smooth difficulty curve and a huge amount of levels.
There really isn’t too much replay value in the game, and there is little pushing the player to go back and earn a higher score on any of the levels.
All in all this is a good bargain bin game, which is coincidently where I found it. It’s worth the low price tag and will keep you occupied while waiting for the Christmas line-up.
