This next bit of news is somewhat close to my heart personally, as it’s a bit of news definitely skewed to my demographic. Males eighteen to thirty, let’s all join together in unison and thank the Philippines for making us a sweet little slice of sci-fi / horror heaven in the form of Killdroid: A Mechanical Love Affair.

Almost tailor-made for our demographic, the Filipino fright fest is all about a young goth chick who finds an android abandoned in an underground bunker. Part of a secret government project, our goth chick frees the android and makes it her lover.

Right now, most of our eighteen to thirty year old male readers are wishing they were androids.

But in all seriousness—this could be something interesting. And we definitely don’t see very many movies out from the Filipino movie circuit. I can’t remember the last time I saw or even heard of a movie from the Philippines. The plot might be outlandishly weird, but outlandishly weird synopses often have a lot of potential behind them. If nothing else, aggressively weird definitely beats aggressively normal (otherwise known as formulaic) for its sheer novelty alone.

Since we have no Filipino androids or hot goth chicks available right this second, how about we go slam down some sci-fi movie trivia on Kwanzoo?
