Well, that’s just about it for the dead pool, folks—Betsy Russell, Jigsaw’s longsuffering ex-wife Jill, is slated to be back in Saw V which will in fact be in theatres October 24th.

And if Jigsaw’s ex-wife shows up, you can probably be pretty sure that this movie is going to be just LADEN with flashbacks, and that should explain how Jigsaw manages to keep showing up in movies when he was autopsy bait TWO WHOLE FILMS AGO.

Okay, granted…there are still plenty, PLENTY, of other explanations, but this one seems to be the most likely. Anyone familiar with Occam and his Razor will be nodding along with me by this point, and frankly, I couldn’t be less happy about it. There are really only two reasons I even watch the Saw franchise any more—out of a sense of tradition (I’ve joined a lot of the masses out there that saw “If it’s Halloween, it must be Saw”.) and out of a sense of morbid curiosity. How can they keep this up? How much deeper will they dig themselves? Can there ever be a GOOD one again?

Chances are good that the answers are “As long as you suckers fork over cash”, “As deep as we can go” and “No”, respectively.

Fortunately for us all, every day is Halloween on Kwanzoo, where Saw movie trivia waits for you on a daily basis.
