On the surface, Universal’s Wanted - an adaptation of Mark Millar’s series of comics - sounds like a reverse version of The Professional. James McAvoy stars as a man who learns that his father is an assassin shortly before the father is killed. Chosen to follow in dad’s footsteps, the young man is trained in the art of assassination by Jolie’s character.

According to Variety, Jolie recently joined the cast after Lara Croft screenwriter Dean Georgaris tailored the character specifically for her. Whether or not this was at Jolie’s behest is not mentioned.

A few days ago, AICN featured what they claimed was an “exclusive” look at the teaser poster (see above, click for big), though some talkbackers insisted that they had seen it before - in the words of ZapRowsdower, “Please, we saw this almost a week ago at pretty much every other website ever.” Now I don’t know who to believe, but I’m inclined towards the opinion that nobody named after a character from The Final Sacrifice could be all bad.

While you’ll have to form your own opinions on this new poster, I don’t think any of us can begin to touch the eloquence of talkbacker odysseus, who says, simply, “I’m tired of Jolie and her stupid tattoos.”
