Seriously, folks–just got word in from the boys at Film Threat that there will be a special one-time screening of Blade Runner at the Warner Brothers Studios June 14. Present at the screening–in a rare Q&A session–will be Ridley Scott himself, along with a host of as-yet-unnamed cast and crew members. Further included is some very special prizes and bennies including–get this–an eBay auction starting Tuesday for ten premium passes for a walking tour of the Blade Runner set, led by Ridley Scott himself.

Needless to say, if you’re any kind of Blade Runner fan you’re having a full-on joygasm at the mere mention of all this spectacular geetus. So why the largess, you wonder? This news will likely put a pall on the whole proceedings.

Blade Runner–among others–producer Paul Prischman has been recently diagnosed with brain cancer. The treatments for this, as we all well know, are monstrous. To make matters worse, Paul was the sole breadwinner for his family, thus there’s a whole lot of trouble afoot and the Blade Runner crew are standing by to help.

Of course, this could trigger a rant about what kind of miserable heartless bastard medical insurance company refuses to handle these bills, but that’s for another kind of blog.
