Movie Trivia: The Rumors of Its Demise Have Been Greatly Exaggerated
The rumors of the demise of Terminator 4, otherwise known as Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins, have either been greatly exaggerated or are so true they require massive conspiracy theories to explain the flood of news being released about it. We’ve got a plot synopsis now, as well as some casting data.
First, Christian Bale is indeed confirmed to be playing future resistance leader John Connor, so that’ll be a huge shot in the arm. We even finally have a full-bore plot synopsis:
But the future Connor was raised to believe in is altered in part by the appearance of Marcus Wright (Sam Worthington), a stranger whose last memory is of being on death row. Connor must decide whether Marcus has been sent from the future, or rescued from the past. As Skynet prepares its final onslaught, Connor and Marcus both embark on an odyssey that takes them into the heart of Skynet’s operations, where they uncover the terrible secret behind the possible annihilation of mankind.
Which sounds like it’s at least on line to be the most cerebral installment of the action blockbuster franchise, if not necessarily the most exciting or most action-packed. But frankly, any kind of thinking going into a Terminator movie must get bonus points for its sheer rarity.
