Movie Trivia: We Control the Vertical and the Horizontal–The Outer Limits Movie
For some reason, it’s news to just about everybody, including the…folks…at Ain’t It Cool News that The Outer Limits is regarded as a “major movie franchise” that will begin production soon. No further word exists—in fact, Ain’t It Cool got it off a press release—and so there’s not much to say.
Except one critical word that makes this whole story look fishier than a Seattle dock—“Sandkings”. The 1995 movie starring Beau Bridges, marked as the start of the Outer Limits TV series, already exists and has done so for the last thirteen years. Thus, it begs the question: why the big uproar over an Outer Limits movie when there already is one?
Maybe thery’re going theatrical with it; which would be a monster surprise to yours truly, because this franchise has been pretty much played out for years. The only place you can find it any more, and that’s not counting DVD box sets assuming any exist, is on occasional reruns from the Sci-Fi Channel. Does The Outer Limits have a sufficient cult following to make a theatrical release worth it? Or is this some kind of hoax to get us all interested in the Sci-Fi Channel’s flagging lineup?
Well, either way, kids, we’ve got plenty of sci-fi trivia waiting on Kwanzoo for you to take a run through, possibly in advance of an Outer Limits movie that may or may not show up.
