Movie Trivia: Webcomics Become Movies–Last Blood Is Proof.

These protect humans now? Whoa.I’m a big webcomic buff. Really I am—there’s about a dozen or so I check on a regular basis and lots more that I’m letting build an archive before I swing in and knock them out. So it was a great bit of news to me that the Crosbys—the guys who brought us comic collectives Keenspace (now Comic Genesis) and Keenspot—had one of their webcomics slated to become a film.

Called “Last Blood”, it combines zombies and vampires in a whole new and surprisingly intuitive fashion. Check this out—basically, zombie apocalypse is on, and humans are becoming increasingly scarce as the bodies of the recently dead get up and attack the living. This doesn’t sit well with the vampires, who ALSO depend on the humans as a food source, and thus, in a move to protect their food supply, start waging war against the zombies.

Clever, no? So with that kind of impetus running underneath it, surely the movie can’t be a bad thing! Good plot can overcome bad execution, but bad plot can’t be saved by any amount of special effects wizardry. We’ve all seen that in any number of movies.

And until we finally get to see how the Crosbys fare as a movie from a webcomic, you can try the horror movie trivia on Kwanzoo.
