NFL Week 4 Predictions (pt. 1)
Last week I had picked 11 of 16 winners, a new season high. After a slow start with 9 of 16 and 8 of 15, I’m going to attempt to hit more winners each week.
My season totals: 28 of 47.
Atlanta @ Carolina- Both teams enter the game with a solid 2-1 record, however, Carolina has beat San Diego and Chicago, while Atlanta has beat nobody, I mean, Kansas City and Detroit. The Panthers will claw down the Falcons’ wings and eat them alive.
Cleveland @ Cincinnati- Both of these AFC North teams are 0-3. Not surprised the Bengals are in this position, I am, however, shocked the Browns are. The Browns are ranked No. 32 in points and total yards. They are slightly better at passing yards (No. 31) gained per game. Their “best” game seems to be their rushing game, they are No. 30 in net rushing yards. I have picked the Browns to win two weeks in a row, and I have picked the Bengals to lose three weeks in a row. Even know the Bengals showed some signs of life last week, I’m going to have to side with the Browns, because I don’t think the Bengals can play good games two weeks in a row. Anderson or Quinn, Browns will win.
Houston @ Jacksonville- The Jaguars are back after a big win last week against their divisional foe the Colts last week. Their offensive line gave up no sacks and their offense finally got moving. I’m expecting an even bigger game from Fred Taylor this week than last. Garrard has got to find a way to get the ball into the end zone has he, as he has only thrown one touchdown thus far. Matt Schaub is going to throw several more interceptions which will create many scoring opportunities for the Jaguars this week, expect them to win big.
Denver @ Kansas City- I want KC to win this one as much as I wanted Miami to beat New England last week, but I feel that I am in the same position as to where it is too extreme of a possibility to pick them as it will damage my win percentage. But, then again, if I had picked Miami to win straight up last week, my creditability would be looking pretty good right now. So I’m stuck taking Denver this week, but I will be picking against them in Week 5, 6 and 7.
San Francisco @ New Orleans- In what figures to be a battle of the running backs who catch the ball way too many times per game, I’m expecting Reggie Bush to beat Frank Gore. That is, I’ll take Drew Brees over J.T. O’Sullivan. Meaning that, the Saints will beat the 49ers.
Arizona @ New York Jets- Another battle here. This one is of the old dudes who still playing the quarterback position. The Jets need to win if they wish to contend with Buffalo and New England for the rest of the season, but it appears that Brett Favre may be injured. With that in mind, I’ll side with the Cardinals.
Green Bay @ Tampa Bay- I picked Green Bay.
