NFL Week 5: Game of the Week

After a quick glance at this weeks schedule, there are two games I could make a case for being the game of the week. The Washington Redskins, who beat divisional rival Dallas Cowboys last week on the road, will travel to Philadelphia this week to face the Eagles. The other potential game of the week is on Sunday night when the Jacksonville Jaguar will play host to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The later, in my opinion, figures to be the more interesting of the two, and thus is this weeks game of the week.

The Jaguars enter the game with a two game winning streak, both which were clinched on last second field goals. The first two weeks of the season they lost in close games, which can very well be attributed to numerous injuries on their offensive line.

They have made adjustments and have found a new formula to win which should carry on this week and well into the rest of the season.

In order for them to keep winning, however, Taylor and Jones-Drew must get the running game going as they did against the Colts in Week 3. Both Taylor and Jones-Drew both ran for more than 100 yards in their victory over Indianapolis.

The Steelers have lost only one of their four games thus far, but very easily could have lost in Week 2 and 4, if their opponents could have brought forth a decent offensive game plan.

The Steelers nearly lost to the Ravens on Monday, and they sure did not look so mighty in their petty victory over the Browns in Week 2.

Willie Parker is not expected to play, again, for the Steelers. Their offense clearly struggles without him in the game, don’t expect much of a running game from them.

It seems like Big Ben is getting knocked over more than any quarterback in the league thus far, and even though the Jaguars didn’t record any sacks last week, I predict they will be knocking him down all game.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Jaguars blow them out, but in honor of recent tradition, I’ll go with Scobee nailing the game winning kick for the third straight week.

Steelers 14
Jaguars 17
