NFL: Week 8 recap

In Foxboro, the New England Patriots survived becoming the St. Louis Rams’ latest upset victim.

In London (yes, you read that right, and no, I’m not talking about that silly “football” game where you can’t touch the ball with your hands), the New Orleans Saints overcame the San Diego Chargers in a shootout at Wembley Stadium.

The San Francisco 49ers and Oakland Raiders lost. Again. What else is new?

Well, the Seattle Seahawks winning sure is, but, of course, they beat the 49ers.

The Kansas City Chiefs and the Cincinnati Bengals extended their rather pathetic losing streaks.

Speaking of losing streaks, the Detroit Lions were almost able to end their seven-game streak against the Washington Redskins, that is, if the second half of the game didn’t occur.

Tallying their third win in seven games, the Miami Dolphins already have won three times as many games this season as last.

Brian Westbrook returned to action, gaining over 200 yards on the ground and in receptions as the Philadelphia Eagles manhandled the Atlanta Falcons.

After a bye week, the Jacksonville Jaguars struggled to stop the Cleveland Browns and came up empty in a 23-17 loss.

The New York Giants won in a come-from-behind photo finish, edging the Pittsburgh Steelers 21-14.
