No Brütal Legend at E3. Boo to that!
I just saw this at Kotaku. Double Fine won’t be showing off Brütal Legend at the Electronic Entertainment Expo this year. That is a bummer.
I’ll be keeping tabs on E3 to fill column inches, of course, but the thrill is now gone.
Brütal Legend is the next game from the creators of Psychonauts, which is objectively the best console game ever. OBJECTIVELY. If you don’t believe me, try it on Steam. Older gamers might remember Tim Schaefer from the Monkey Island series as well.
One of the writers of Psychonauts is now at Valve doing things like Portal, but I have faith. Plus, it’s nice to look forward to a game that isn’t yet another sequel or spinoff.
And Double Fine has webcomics. That’s pretty cool.
Oh, and I guess Jack Black is in the game. Well, whatever. I don’t care about that.
MTV says Brütal Legend isn’t in trouble or anything. It’s just that the game’s publisher, Vivendi, is merging with Activision as part of that whole thing with Blizzard, and Activision is one of several publishers passing up E3 this year.
Schaefer hopes to show off Brütal Legend “soon.” Here’s hoping.
