No Krueger? It’s Cool–Englund Goes Directing!

In the big chair now, this one is!So by now you’ve all had a chance to read my truly engrossing article on Robert Englund ditching Freddy Krueger, and you’re probably still shaken up. You might be wondering exactly why he wasn’t coming back. Well, I’ve got a reason for you! Brace yourself–he’s gone directing!

This Is Not The First Time, Either.

Coming out on the order of soon from now-director Robert Englund will be Killer Pad, a direct to video affair that includes, among others, bizarre short manchild Andy Milonakis. Which is a bit of fluff compared to what he’s got coming–a ghost story called The Vij, featuring none other than horror legend Christopher Lee.

It’s Just A Fact of Life, Man.

It’s true, it’s true–if you want menace you go straight to the source. Not Christopher Walken or Stephen King or even Robert Englund himself. The source is Christopher Lee, who has been acting for no less than fifty years. Stop and wrap your head around that one for a minute, folks–Christopher Lee’s acting career goes all the way back to 1948’s Corridor of Mirrors and that one was almost a horror flick. Especially by 1940s standards–there were past lives involved! The guy’s been playing Death in Discworld movies pretty much since they started–tell me that’s not menace!

Now, I’m looking forward to this. Not only will the great font of menace Christopher Lee be involved, it’s a ghost movie, and Robert Englund will direct and appear.

Tell me that’s not a recipe for sheer horror glee!

And what you don’t have to tell me is that there’s plenty of horror movie trivia to be had on Kwanzoo.
