Pre-E3: Prepare to get your hype on.

It’s going to be a busy week next week with the Electronic Entertainment Expo. It may have lost a few publishers, but the old dog still has some bite in it.

Before the show starts, here’s a roundup of a few of the videos up at the E3 Insider site.

Bioware has put its RPG expertise to use on Jedi, astronauts and kung-fu, and now it’s going back to fantasy with Dragon Age: Origins.

It’s a big year for games with “origin” in the name, apparently. Monolith is showing off Project Origin, a prequel to F.E.A.R., a game that if nothing else was a very solid shooter.

I am very much looking forward to seeing more about Mirror’s Edge next week. Isn’t it strange how in five years EA has gone from being synonymous with “endless sequel garbage” to putting out some genuinely exciting and risky new stuff? Heck, I might even preorder for the bag.

Nothing to say about this one except ZOMBIES INNN SPAAAAAACE!

Lastly, Sega is showcasing Stormrise, a console real-time strategy game. Tough to say on this one. I firmly believe most games are more fun to play if they look good, but with the RTS genre, it really all comes down to the game mechanics.
