Wrath of the Lich King talents announced

Yeah, they’re up, though technically they were mined out of the beta client already.

If you play World of Warcraft, you already saw that announcement. If you don’t play, you probably don’t give a damn. The only audience for this post is people like me who aren’t playing right now, but are probably going to get back into it for the expansion.

So, if you’ve got a level 70 character out there gathering dust, what can you expect if you reactivate your subscription?

Reconsidering that Dead Rising Wii version now

Some good news and some bad news on that remake of Dead Rising for the Wii.

The good news is the game got a nice new name for its North American release. Instead of Dead Rising: Zombie Sacrifice, it’s going to be Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop.

Portal Xbox Live exclusive expansion thing… kinda

Word came out about this during E3, but details were a little sketchy.

Xbox Live Arcade is getting its own version of Portal, titled Portal: Still Alive. This isn’t a sequel as the title might imply, but a re-release of the original game with extra content.

The obvious question is, will there be more of everyone’s favorite passive-aggressive homicidal artificial intelligence, GLaDOS? The answer is no.

Unreal Tournament 3 Review(7 out of 10)

After over 3 years of waiting, Epic Games released Unreal Tournament 3(UT3) in late 2007 for the PC and PS3. Never fear 360 players, UT3 has just recently been released for the 360 as well. For this review, I have been playing the PC version of the game. Simply put, Unreal Tournament 3 is a huge upgrade from Unreal Tournament 2004 in every way.

UT3 Box Art(PC)

Graphics: UT3 is using the Unreal Engine 3 for some crisp next generation graphics. The downside being that for PC gamers this may mean a pricey graphic card upgrade.

Gameplay: The gameplay is hands-down fun and intuitive. The gameplay formula hasn’t changed since the last Unreal Tournament game, but there have been some very nice features that have been added for UT3. Transportation has been made easier by the addition of the hover-board and a slew of new vehicles. There is also a new mode, Warfare, in which players capture nodes and trigger events to defeat the opposing team, but a good chunk of the modes from UT2004 have been dropped from UT3.

Zombwiis! The living dead come to Nintendo.

Few things in video games are more cathartic than fighting off hordes of the shambling undead who want nothing more than your tasty, tasty brains. Soon, Wii owners will get to partake of this simple joy.

Capcom announced that they’re bringing a remake of Dead Rising to the console with some significant changes. One of the changes is probably good, and one is probably bad.

E3 news: Final Fantasy XIII coming to the Xbox 360

During Microsoft’s press conference at E3 today, Square-Enix made official a longstanding rumor: The next game in the blockbuster Final Fantasy series will be on the Xbox 360 as well as the PS3.

This is big news because new Final Fantasy games have been PlayStation exclusives for over a decade, and Sony needs high-profile exclusives to push sales of the PS3.

It only makes sense for Square-Enix, though. As expensive as it is to make a game like this, they can’t rely on putting it out on a platform that has less than half as many units sold in the U.S. For the same reason, the 360 version probably won’t see the light of day in Japan, where the 360’s market share is relatively minuscule.

World of Warcraft news, in which I get to use the word “dongle.”

Getting your World of Warcraft account stolen is pretty awful.

Someone plants a keylogger on your computer and susses out your password. Sure, you’re going to get all your in-game stuff stolen, that’s a given. Next time you log in, your character is going to be standing around in his skivvies.

But say your character has access to a guild bank. Well, then you just let some guy loot the fruits of countless hours of labor of all your friends. Things get uncomfortable.
