Speaking as someone who is convinced that Knights of the Old Republic was one of the best possible reasons to own an Xbox, the thought of that amazing, amazing series becoming an MMO is just a cheery happy thought.

Let’s be clear on one thing–right now, the absolute unquestioned lord and master of MMO gaming is World of Warcraft. No ifs ands or buts. No one else has that kind of player base and revenue. There are more people playing World of Warcraft right now at nine million, give or take, than live in the entire country of AUSTRIA.

But the thought of an MMO, with not just a science-fiction theme but a well-done Star Wars theme–and let’s be honest, Star Wars Galaxies was neither well-received nor well-done–just might be the thing to compete alongside the market supremacy that is World of Warcraft.

When we’ll see it? Who knows? At this point it’s all smoke and rumors, but I’m sure looking forward to it!
