Ninjas versus Pirates.  Call it an overused meme if you must, and by the time you get robots involved, things only get stranger and more interesting.  But when you introduce zombies into the mix, well, it’s a downright unstoppable combination.  Which is why I was downright amazed to discover this.

It’s Ninjas versus Zombies, folks.  And by the look of things, they’re playing it straight…kind of.  Check out the plot synopsis from horror-movies.ca:

Seven friends, struggling with late 20s, early 30’s life, find themselves in terrifying danger when a long-dead loved one is magically resurrected and starts devouring souls. To make matters worse, three of them have been granted the power of the Ninja, and now must lead the fight against a power they cannot hope to vanquish. If they fail, the undead will overrun their little town, and maybe the world.

And after watching the trailer, well…all I know is that I want to see this movie.  I can’t imagine NOT seeing this movie.  This is not merely a slice of awesome cake–this is the entire awesome cake.  Okay, okay, so it’s clearly low-budget, but man, what they did with amateur special effects and some half-baked script work somehow manages to combine to be more–much more–than the sum of its parts.  It’s done something rare for a horror movie–it got me laughing…and it got me ready to watch.
