The Day Keanu Stood Still
Somewhere, somehow, somebody thought it would be a good idea to cast Keanu Reeves in a remake of the sci-fi classic The Day the Earth Stood Still. I may be alone in this, but do we really need remakes of films that are already considered to be classics? Sure, we’ve improved our special effects just a teensy bit since then, but pretty much every Hollywood blockbuster proves that SFX don’t count for much.
Anyway, whether we like it or not, we now have Keanu Reeves in The Day the Earth Stood Still. At least he’s playing an alien, I guess. Recently, ex Python John Cleese joined the cast as Dr. Barnhardt, a scientist who is central to the story.

The talented-yet-busty Jennifer Connelly is set to appear as Helen Benson, while Kathy Bates is in negotiations for an unnamed role. Jaden Smith, the young co-star of The Pursuit of Happyness, will play Connelly’s rebellious stepson. With a cast like that, they can’t go wrong!
Oh, right. Keanu.
