The Mummy Returns, Again.
Every once in a while, a good action film comes along that makes a lot of money, but is almost immediately forgotten. When asked, people will say “I liked that!” but it’s never the topic of discussion at parties. The Mummy was one of these.
There are a lot of closet Mummy fans out there - not because it’s a matter of shame, but because, for some reason, The Mummy series just gets overlooked. Did you know there’s a sequel coming out? Neither did I. Until now.
The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor may have an awful title, but chances are it will be as successful as all the previous films. Rachel Weisz will unfortunately not be appearing in this installment, since she dropped out to spend more time with her infant son. But we will have Jet Li, and possibly Alex Pettyfer from the British kiddie spy flop Stormbreaker.
Rob Cohen, director of xXx, will be in charge of this one. This may or may not be good news, but however it goes, you can be sure that Brendan Fraser will battle some supernatural enemies in Egypt. Sounds like fun to me.
