The Office: “Frame Toby”

Well, things in “The Office” are pretty much back to normal. Pam is behind the desk, Ryan is being the evasive temp, and Toby is back in HR. That last bit is giving Michael some difficulty; he’s still in denial about Holly leaving, and he refuses to even enter the part of the office that houses her now-filled desk.

Meanwhile, Jim’s plan to buy his parents’ house has come to fruition. Somehow, the whole office is aware of his plan (except for Pam). Upon visiting the house, Jim realizes for the first time how…hideous it is. Shag carpeting, faux wood paneling, and a scary painting of a clown that is, judging by his inability to detatch it from the wall, crucial to the structural integrity of the house. But Jim is determined to charm his lady with a home, so he bravely soldiers on.

Michael, determined to take Toby down, enlists Dwight’s help. Dwight suggests framing him for a drug crime, so Michael attempts to buy marijuana from some Vance Refrigeration deliverymen. He brings a baggie of mysterious green stuff and smuggles it into Toby’s desk; Dwight takes care of the rest.

Meanwhile Pam gets all Passive Aggressive over a soiled microwave. (To be fair to her, I once left a friendly note inviting my roommates to please cover their food and clean up messes in the microwave. In fairness to me, I had just cleaned it.) When Ryan is bold enough to express agreement with her vendetta, she attempts to convince him to clean it, and he refuses. Everybody want a clean microwave, don’t nobody want to clean the microwave.

When the cops show up to search Toby’s desk, they discover a stash of…salad. Creed is the only one who seems genuinely frightened of the fuzz.

Over at Casa Halpert, Jim shows Pam around his childhood home and apologizes for its sorry decorative state. Pam is literally speechless, but when he shows her a garage that he has converted into an art studio for her, she tells him that she loves the house.

Awwww. This romance can’t last forever. Can it? Either the romance or the show is going to end. I’m taking bets.
