With news of exciting new pilots flying fast and furious at our computer screens, it’s hard to separate the wheat from the chaff. I barely try anymore, but occasionally, a name just jumps out at me. And this time, it’s Alan Tudyk.

Although I’ve never been able to successfully pronounce “Tudyk,” I’ve been a fan of his since his comedic turn in A Knight’s Tale. It was delightful to see him again in Firefly, a role which brought him the cult fame he richly deserves. Minor roles in films like 3:10 to Yuma and Knocked Up haven’t added much to his resume, so it’s good to hear he’ll be starring in a new pilot.

Currently untitled, it’s the story of two lifelong friends and business partners - one straight, one gay. (Tudyk is the latter.) No further details have emerged, but I (and, no doubt, other Firefly fans) will be keeping an eye out.
