Word comes from Ron Howard himself, folks–apparently there WILL be an Arrested Development movie. Slated for release in 2009, this represents the single biggest joygasm from the TV geek community in a long time.

Though there’s not a whole lot of word about plot or anything similar at this point, there IS, however, word that all the original cast will reprise their roles, with one notable possible exception–GOB’s highly popular but very un-PC puppet, Franklin.

Quoth Wil Arnett–”"[His participation] is going to come down to Franklin’s agents, obviously; everybody’s got a price. Is Franklin still alive? I don’t even remember what happened to him.”

Naturally, at this point, you’ve got to take this news with something of a grain of salt. There’s every possibility this could be cancelled before it even gets out of the gate. All it’d take is one actor / actress in the wrong spot or one lack of funding or any of a dozen other things to kill it. But let’s cross our fingers, hope for the best, and enjoy some Arrested Development trivia on Kwanzoo to keep us interested.
