Video game trivia: Saw game still on its way.
In a development that is sure to either excite or enrage Steve or possibly do both simultaneously, news is floating around the intarwebs that the Saw video game is still on track.
As everyone knows, games based on movies are almost always shameless cash-grabs; awful piles of garbage tossed together and released in time to coincide with the source material’s release date. They also happen to be money in the bank for anyone who wants to shove them out the door, which is why they continue to exist. Some games buck the trend, but they’re few and far between.
Saw’s producers insist that the game will be one of the latter. In fact, it will be a “walk-through game where you pick up weapons,” a phrase which, as Destructoid points out, appears to be grammatically correct but doesn’t actually contain any meaning.
Plus, Brash Entertainment’s previous games were Alvin and the Chipmunks and Jumper, so, uh… hmm.
Oh well. However it eventually turns out, at least one of us here will be able to get some column inches from it.
